The Story of Indigo Valley Wines

Paul and Suse have two great passions in life… one being Lamb and the other being wine!  Hence when the opportunity came up to purchase a property in the Indigo Valley with grazing land for our Lambs and a vineyard it was like a dream come true!  Our first priority was to establish our Lamb business and then it was time to take on a new challenge to produce a wine from our vineyard.  We wanted to make a wine to be enjoyed with Lamb and Shiraz was the perfect choice.  We have 12 acres planted to Shiraz in our vineyard so we were all set!  Paul, a viticulturist for 28 years with extensive experience managing vineyards was well equipped to grow the grapes.  Suse spent almost 20 years marketing her family wine business and loves all things wine & marketing!  We combined our talents to create our very first wine… the 2023 ‘Baaz Shiraz’.

Shiraz and Lamb go hand in hand & the Baaz Shiraz was created with this in mind! 

The inspiration for the Baaz Shiraz came from one of our poddy Lambs named Baaz… 

‘Who wandered off into the Shiraz, he gorged on some grapes and got a big belly ache and hence we named this wine ‘The Baaz’! 

Made from Shiraz grapes, harvested in March 2023 from our vineyard in the Indigo Valley, this wine is full of flavour, brimming with lovely ripe plum fruit reflective of the warm vintage. 

Upon tasting the 2023 Baaz Shiraz...

The Baaz Shiraz is full bodied … just like Baaz the Poddy Lamb! 

Nose:  A broody nose with lifted, ripe plum fruit and hints of ground spice reminiscent of Christmas cake! 

Palate: A lovely silky palate with ripe blackberry fruits up front and some cinnamon spice with a long smooth finish.  Enjoy with your favourite cut of Indigo Valley Lamb!
