Bangers and Mash with Tomato and Onion Gravy

This recipe was kindly donated by Paul’s Mum – Anna Heard. It has been a long time favorite in Paul’s family. It’s so simple and delicious on a cold winters night!


2 Onions

2 Cloves of garlic

I tin of diced tomatoes

1 teaspoon sugar

2 teaspoons dry Oregano

2 Bay leaves

A splash of red wine (optional)


Saute the onion and garlic until the onion becomes translucent.

Add the tin of tomatoes, herbs, sugar, salt and pepper (and wine) and simmer on a low heat for approximately 10 minutes to slightly reduce and thicken.

Cook the Lamb sausages on the BBQ, grill, airfryer or pan-fry (whatever is your preferred method ). Serve the Lamb sausages on top of creamy mash potato, pour the sauce over the top & serve with peas alongside. Enjoy!
